A forum for those invested in biochemistry and molecular biology education
The ͵ÅÄ͵¿ú and ͵ÅÄ͵¿ú Biology Student Chapters Committee invites undergraduate faculty members to attend its reception at in San Antonio. This annual event brings together undergraduate educators to meet new people and catch up with colleagues.
During the reception, undergraduate educators have time to converse in a casual setting at the end of a conference day. A bingo card activity with prizes helps to facilitate networking and discussion, especially for first-time attendees.
Pam Mertz serves as chair of the society’s Student Chapters Committee and works with other committee members to plan the event.
“The Student Chapters reception at the annual ASBMB meeting is an event that undergraduate faculty really look forward to every year,” Mertz said. “It’s a great time to catch up with colleagues who are also friends in a social setting after a full day of the conference, and it’s also an opportunity to meet new people. It helps build community and collaborations among faculty who are passionate about undergraduate education.”
Whether you have been an undergraduate educator for more than a decade or are just beginning your journey, the Student Chapters Committee invites you to attend the reception and learn about the ASBMB’s education community. Student Chapters Committee members will be present to answer any questions you may have about the education community or the Student Chapters program.
The reception will take place on Monday, March 25, at 6:45 p.m. Please note that the time is subject to change, and interested individuals should (or the Discover BMB app, once it's available) for the most up-to-date information. Light refreshments will be provided.
